ashleigh / teen birthday party ideas & what you can do
Hello people of Earth! Yes it's me back again and I'm super happy that me and Imogen both together have managed to post every month this year, it feels great, and I'm sure we'll be posting for the rest of the year and hopefully years to come:)Recently I've really started wanting a proper birthday party for when I turn fourteen [November, by the way, so not very soon at all], and I've thought of all sorts of cool ideas so I thought I'd share a couple with the readers of the blog!:)
Before you start thinking, I'm not going to suggest an internet party first, but I love this picture and it fits with the party theme - right?
1. Sleepover Party
Sleepovers are really fun, the more friends the better! And it would feel great to be the centre of attention at a sleepover when it's easy to be ignored!
I'm not going to write down what you can do as you can read Imo's post 'Things To Do At A Sleepover' HERE. Yeah, just click on the word here and you'll have a 39 bullet point list of stuff you can do. What can go wrong? Oh yeah.
2. Pizza, Ice Cream & Milkshake Movie Party
This is the kind of party I would love. This is something you could do at a sleepover party, obviously, but it's perfect on its own!
So basically you are going to section your kitchen into sections;
- a pizza making area with ready made dough, tomato/barbeque purée, cheese and various toppings - pepperoni, pineapple, ham and chicken are all great.
- an ice cream sundae building area - lots of tubs of different flavour ice creams such as vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, maybe mint choc chip or cookie dough, and sauces (chocolate, strawberry/raspberry and toffee should do the trick), and sprinkles etc. It would be so cute and who doesn't love ice cream?
- last but not least, the milkshake making section should consist of milk, vanilla ice cream, milk shake powder/chocolate bars - me and my cousins first made daim milkshakes from scratch but there's a great recipe HERE which is pretty similar, whipped cream and sprinkles, maybe flakes to stick in the top.
When you've all made your food go into your living room and put on your fave teen movie or two of them (Mean Girls 1&2, Twilight, and Wild Child are fail-safe options), and sit down with your goodies!
Here's how you can decorate and make an amazing sitting area for your friends and yourself!;
- Go around your house and find out all all of the blanket, pillows, duvets and scatter cushions you can find. Take them downstairs and spread the duvets over the floor so you have a soft place to sit, then cover them with pretty blankets. Then you just need to throw pillows onto it and around the edges for a viewing area fit for the birthday girl!
- Got any spare fairy lights from Christmas or just laying in an unopened box around the house? Use it to your advantage! Just blu-tack them to the ceiling and walls for a pretty effect when it's dark in your makeshift cinema and easily remove them after your party is over.
- An extra cool decorative touch is to print off cute and cool tumblr transparents like these for your kitchen to stick over your sections to make it clear which area is which - ICE CREAM, MILKSHAKES, PIZZA. A blogger's favourite for the milkshake is this;
These would also look cute in your living room if you hunted around for some cute tumblr transparents, such as THIS, THIS and THIS. You could also print off the poster or DVD cover of the movie you're watching and put it on the wall, framed for the best effect, for a more cinematic touch to go with the whole theme.
I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS SUPER LONG POST AND WILL CONSIDER ONE OF THE IDEAS [I'D PICK THE FOODY MOVIE PARTY, I GET A GOOD VIBE FROM IT]. OKAY, BYE!
